Tradie website design in Melbourne

A tradie website has one job: turn local searches into quote requests. We build fast, mobile-first sites for Melbourne trades — your number above the fold, proof you do good work, and pages that tell Google exactly which suburbs you cover. Quoted at a fixed price before anything starts.

WHAT IT HAS TO DO

Three things, in this order

A homeowner with a burst pipe in Brunswick isn't reading your company history. They're on their phone, they want someone who covers their suburb, and they'll call one of the first businesses that looks legitimate. Everything else is decoration.

01

Get found

Someone searches "electrician Coburg" or "emergency plumber near me". If your site doesn't clearly signal the trade you do and the suburbs you cover, you're not in the running — no matter how good the design is.

02

Look legitimate

You have about five seconds. Licence number, insurance, years on the tools, and photos of jobs you actually did. Stock images of a smiling tradesman in a hard hat fool nobody and quietly cost you calls.

03

Make contact effortless

Phone number above the fold, tapping it starts a call, and a quote form short enough to finish one-handed. Every extra field between a customer and a quote request costs you jobs.

Why a trades site isn't a generic small business site

Most website templates are built for someone sitting at a desk, browsing slowly, with time to read. Your customers are the opposite — outdoors, in a hurry, often stressed, and almost always on a phone with one bar of reception. A site designed for the first person and squeezed onto a phone for the second one loses you work.

Over 70% of “near me” trade searches happen on a phone. That changes what matters. Page weight matters more than animation. Your phone number matters more than your mission statement. A gallery of jobs you actually did matters more than a stock photo library. And the suburbs you cover need to be stated plainly, not implied.

The other half is local search. Most trade enquiries start in Google's map pack, which is driven by your Google Business Profile — but Google cross-checks that listing against your website before it trusts it. When your profile says “electrician, northern suburbs” and your website says the same thing clearly, the two reinforce each other. When they disagree, or your site says nothing at all, you don't appear.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Every trades build includes

Tap-to-call, above the fold

Your number is the first thing on the screen and one tap dials it. Most trade enquiries are phone calls, not form fills — the site should be built around that, not around a contact page three clicks deep.

Suburb & service area pages

Google ranks you locally when you clearly signal where you work. Proper pages for the areas you actually cover do more for your phone ringing than any amount of clever design.

Built for a phone on 4G

Your customers are outdoors, in a hurry, often on patchy reception. We build light enough to load before they lose patience — not a desktop site squeezed onto mobile as an afterthought.

Real trust signals

Licence and insurance details, years in business, genuine Google reviews, and a gallery of your own work. The things a homeowner checks before they call a stranger to their house.

Quote forms that convert

Short, mobile-first forms with photo upload so a customer can send you a picture of the problem. Fewer fields, more enquiries — and enough detail that you can quote without a site visit.

Google Business Profile setup

The map listing is where most trade enquiries actually start, and it's free. We set it up properly and make sure it and your website tell Google the same story about what you do and where.

FAQ

Tradie websites: common questions

How much does a tradie website cost in Melbourne?

It depends on how many services and service areas you need covered, and whether you want a CMS you can edit yourself. You get a single fixed price after a short discovery call — before anything starts, with nothing added later.

How long does it take to build?

Two to four weeks for most trade websites. The biggest variable is how quickly you can get us photos of your work and confirm the suburbs you cover — the build itself is rarely the bottleneck.

Will it help me show up in Google's map pack?

It's a big part of it. The map pack is driven mainly by your Google Business Profile, but Google cross-checks it against your website. When both clearly say the same thing about your trade and your service area, you're far more likely to appear. We set up both together.

I already get all my work from word of mouth. Do I need a website?

Referrals still check you online before they call — a referral who can't find you, or finds something that looks abandoned, is a job you quietly lose. A website's first job for a referral-driven trade is confirming you're real and still operating.

Can customers send photos of the job?

Yes. We build quote forms with photo upload as standard, because a picture of the actual blocked drain or damaged roof saves you a site visit and lets you quote faster than the competitor who has to drive out first.

Do I need a page for every suburb I cover?

No — and mass-producing near-identical suburb pages will hurt you rather than help. A handful of genuinely useful pages for the areas where you do real volume works far better than fifty thin ones with the suburb name swapped out.

Can I update it myself?

Yes. We build on a CMS you can manage and walk you through it at handover, so adding a job photo or updating your service areas doesn't need a developer. If you'd rather not touch it at all, our care plans cover content updates.
