Next.js development for fast, serious web products
We design and build custom marketing sites, web apps and content platforms for Australian teams. Next.js is powerful when the brief needs it; when a simpler platform is the better answer, we say so.
What the build includes
Architecture before code
Rendering, caching, data and component boundaries planned around the product rather than copied from a starter.
Measured performance
Lean client JavaScript, responsive images and sensible caching, checked against Core Web Vitals instead of vague speed claims.
Search foundations
Server-rendered content, metadata, canonicals, structured data and sitemaps built into the implementation.
CMS and integrations
A practical editing setup plus the CRM, payments, search or business systems the project genuinely needs.
Maintainable TypeScript
Clear types, reusable components and documented decisions so the codebase remains workable after launch.
Testing and handover
Responsive QA, key user-journey checks, deployment setup and a handover that explains how the site is run.
Where we use Next.js
Marketing websites
Custom sites where speed, search structure and a distinctive interface justify more than a template.
SaaS applications
Account-based products with authentication, dashboards and server-side business logic.
Headless commerce
Custom storefronts connected to an established commerce backend and checkout.
Content platforms
Resource hubs, directories and editorial sites with structured publishing workflows.
Portals and dashboards
Focused internal tools and client-facing interfaces built around real operational tasks.
Existing codebases
Audits, feature work and careful refactors where a full rebuild would create more risk than value.
When Next.js is the right investment
Framework choice should follow the business requirement. These are the signals we use before recommending a custom Next.js build.
Choose Next.js when
- Performance or search visibility is commercially important
- The interface or user journey cannot be expressed well by a theme
- The project needs application logic, integrations or structured content
- The product is expected to grow and needs a maintainable codebase
Choose a simpler route when
- You need the cheapest possible brochure site
- Your team wants to control every layout visually without developer support
- An established platform already solves the requirement cleanly
- The brief is still untested and a smaller MVP would answer the key question

Common questions
Why choose Next.js over another framework?
Choose Next.js when one codebase needs server-rendered content, application logic, fast navigation and flexible deployment. It is not automatically the best option for every site; the right architecture depends on the editing model, integrations, budget and team.
How much does a Next.js website cost?
Cost depends on the interface, content model, integrations and application logic. We scope the build before quoting, and our Next.js cost guide explains the usual Australian planning ranges and cost drivers.
Will I be able to update content?
Yes. We integrate headless CMS platforms so you can edit content without touching code.
Is Next.js good for SEO?
It gives developers strong tools for server-rendered content, metadata, structured data and performance, but the framework does not create rankings by itself. Content quality, internal structure, authority and technical execution still decide the outcome.
Can you work with an existing Next.js codebase?
Yes. We start with an audit of the architecture, dependencies and deployment path, then recommend feature work, refactoring or a rebuild according to the actual risk.
What's the difference between Next.js and WordPress?
Next.js offers deeper control over the interface and application architecture. WordPress usually gives non-technical teams a more familiar editing model and a large plugin ecosystem. We build both and recommend the smaller sensible solution.
